Synopsis
As long as filmmakers like Hong Kong’s Wong Jing (“God of Gamblers” and “On His Majesty’s Secret Service”) is around, you know the drill – expect the unexpected. His latest work, “Beauty on Duty” is no exception either. Previously known as “Love Undercover 4,” “Beauty on Duty” is yet another same old crowd-pleasing, easy-going comedy. It’s a no-brainer that the modus operandi bears a close resemblance to Hollywood’s “Miss Congeniality.” But what set them apart is that being a typical Wong Jing self-made picture, his version redefines what “mo lei tau” comedy means, minus the snorting laugh by Sandra Bullock.
